Jethro Knerr should be happy. He has achieved his goal of seeing all seven of his sons happily married, and he has several grandchildren on the way. But everything around him feels suddenly empty, and far too quiet. His enormous house is too big for just himself.
Jethro’s friends try to convince him that what he needs is a companion with which to share his life and the wonderful times ahead with his grandchildren, but Jethro cannot even entertain the thought of loving another woman. His heart still belongs to his beloved Miriam, although she has been gone for more than 10 years.
When he realizes that all his children have plans to be elsewhere for Thanksgiving, Jethro is heartbroken. He has looked forward to a huge family gathering; now he will be alone.
What he doesn’t realize is that they, together with Mrs. Molly White, have set in motion a plan that will shake him to his core and make him re-examine all his feelings.
The Seven Sons of Jethro is a delightful series that follows the trail of long-suffering father, Jethro’s quest to marry each of his sons to a good Christian wife. Each story is a wonderful tale in itself, and can be enjoyed as a satisfying stand-alone, but be warned, once you listen to one, you won’t be able to resist finding out what became of the other sons and their stories.
