In Beth’s Amish community, Rumspringa means going away to experience the outside world, and for a dreamer like Beth, it’s something that has been weighing on her mind. When her lifelong best friend, Arthur, sustains a broken foot and can’t help out around the farm, his mother asks if Beth might be able to help him stay occupied. Their friendship blooms into something more, and Arthur plans on asking Beth if she’d like to be courted. However, Beth’s adventurous spirit is still drawn to the notion of Rumspringa, and when her friend Rachel returns from her own Rumspringa, Beth is torn between remaining in the community with Arthur or goingoff into the world to experience another kind of life. Will Beth make the choice of staying with her best friend and potential life partnerin the life that she knows or will she go off on the adventure she’s always dreamed of?
